VP, IP and Technology Commercialization

Dr. Vincent Harrand is the Vice President of Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization at CFD Research, where he has been a driving force since joining the company in 1991. He leads efforts to transition cutting-edge R&D into real-world applications for the DoD, NASA, and other U.S. government agencies.

Dr. Harrand manages the company’s extensive intellectual property portfolio – now exceeding 80 patents- and oversees all technology licensing. He also runs the CFD Research Innovation Accelerator, a program that empowers employees to pitch new product ideas and receive internal R&D funding to bring those ideas to life.

In addition to guiding spin-out companies and corporate subsidiaries, Dr. Harrand actively collaborates with national accelerators to help secure seed and venture capital funding. Earlier in his career, he played a key role in CFD Research’s commercial software division, which spun off with 45 employees to become part of an international software company in 2004.

He holds degrees in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
