(Huntsville, Ala.) – CFD Research has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 Enterprise certification, joining a limited number of organizations nationwide to earn this distinction. The achievement reinforces the company’s commitment to protecting sensitive Department of Defense information and maintaining the rigorous cybersecurity standards required to support critical national security programs.

The Department of Defense estimates that approximately 80,000 contractors will ultimately require CMMC Level 2 certification to perform work involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Only a small percentage of those organizations have successfully completed the certification process to date, with enterprise-wide certifications representing only a fraction of those awarded. Unlike many organizations that certify only a portion of their business, CFD Research’s certification encompasses its enterprise environment, strengthening the company’s ability to securely support a broad range of Department of Defense programs.
Developed by the Department of Defense, the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program establishes a common cybersecurity standard across the Defense Industrial Base. CMMC Level 2 certification validates that an organization has implemented the security practices and processes required to safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information in accordance with NIST SP 800-171 through an independent third-party assessment.
For CFD Research, this achievement extends across a diverse portfolio of technologies, including hypersonics, artificial intelligence & machine learning (AI/ML), sensing, power & energy, electronics, health & human performance, and space, allowing the company to continue delivering secure engineering, research, and technology solutions for some of the nation’s most complex defense challenges.
“Achieving CMMC Level 2 Enterprise certification reflects our long-standing commitment to protecting our customers’ information and maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity,” said Sameer Singhal, President & CEO of CFD Research. “Our customers trust us with some of the nation’s most challenging engineering and technology problems, and this certification demonstrates our continued investment in earning and maintaining that trust. It reflects the dedication of our employee-owners and our commitment to supporting the evolving needs of the Department of Defense.”
This certification further strengthens CFD Research’s ability to support current and future Department of Defense programs requiring the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information while reinforcing the company’s commitment to secure operations, regulatory compliance, and mission readiness.
