Huntsville Ala. – CFD Research Corporation is proud to announce that the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) has appointed Professor George Nelson as the inaugural holder of the Ashok K. Singhal Endowed Chair in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This esteemed position, the first of its kind in UAH’s College of Engineering, was made possible by a generous $1 million pledge from Sangeeta Singhal, wife of the late Dr. Ashok K. Singhal, Founder of CFD Research. The endowment honors Dr. Singhal’s enduring commitment to excellence in engineering and education.
Dr. Singhal founded CFD Research in 1987, starting from his basement in Huntsville. Over the years, he transformed the company into a leader in engineering simulations and innovative designs across various industries. His dedication to research and development, coupled with his philanthropic spirit, left an indelible mark on the community. In 2008, he and Sangeeta established the Singhal Scholarship and the CFD Research Scholarship at UAH, further solidifying their commitment to fostering future generations of engineers.
The Ashok K. Singhal Endowed Chair will support the teaching, research, and professional development of a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UAH. This position aims to attract and retain top-tier scholars, ensuring that UAH continues to lead in innovative engineering education and research.
