SUMMARY:Hypersonic Defense 2022
DESCRIPTION:A new era of ballistic missiles is imminent with a rapid race to develop the latest hypersonic weapons systems. There is also a pivotal issue to develop hypersonic defense systems to protect against the potential threat. \nNATO members are working to make sure the right capabilities are in place to defend from a hypersonic weapon. There is an importance to ramp up testing of a hypersonic flight vehicle and understand the capabilities which will in turn assist with helping understand the best areas to intercept a hypersonic weapon during its glide path. \nDuring the 2-day Hypersonic Defense conference and exhibition\, eventgoers will look at the current ballistic missile defense capabilities of leading nations and the importance to fast track modernization of the current systems. The event will also review the testing requirements\, simulation and research of hypersonic warheads\, international cooperation and public-private collaborations.

SUMMARY:Hypersonic Technology & Systems Conference (HTSC)
DESCRIPTION:Sustained hypersonic flight within dense atmosphere has substantial utility. Advances in underlying technologies and integration into weapon systems offer the DoD significant enhancements in its ability to penetrate heavily defended areas and prosecute time-critical targets. Other nations are also actively pursuing these technologies; as such\, defense against such systems is also of increased interest. The technologies required to enable the reliable use of hypersonic vehicles are multi-disciplinary. Some of these technologies that HTSC focuses on include: \n\nThermal Protection & Management Systems\nPropulsion\nAerodynamics & Aerothermodynamics\nNavigation\, Guidance & Control and Electrical Systems\nProgrammatic Review\nDefense Against Hypersonic Systems\nDetecting & Tracking Hypersonic Objects\nSensing in a Hypersonic Environment\nGround Test Facilities & Instrumentation\nSystems Engineering (including Digital Engineering)\, Architecture\, Analysis & Design\nFlight Testing\nKill Chain\, Mission Planning & C4ISR\nWeapon Effects & Lethality\n\nHTSC’s emphasis is on systems and applied technology. This conference highlights the nation’s investments in systems integrated hypersonic technologies for both research and development and weapon platform integration for offense and defense. It brings together the best and brightest involved in the development and use of hypersonic technologies in a unique\, limited-attendance forum which will facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities. This event is held at a restricted access level. Please see the security page for more information.

SUMMARY:2022 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run
DESCRIPTION:The Liz Hurley Ribbon Run\, with CFD Research as the founding sponsor this year\, provides proceeds that help ensure our region has access to the latest diagnostic technology through the Breast Centers at not-for-profit Huntsville Hospital and Madison Hospital. The 2021 event provided two software upgrades for screening mammography machines. This upgraded technology means higher-resolution images\, improved cancer detection and a likely decrease in the number of false positive examinations.

SUMMARY:DoD Anti-Tamper Conference
DESCRIPTION:As our community celebrates 20+ years since our inception\, it is a time to look forward to the challenges ahead and meet those challenges head on. The “Roaring Twenties” is our time to become a community that facilitates the advancement of weapon systems giving our men and women the means to dominate the modern-day battlefield into 2030 and beyond. We must protect that battlefield dominance by learning from our past and applying those lessons learned to our future programs working together as Government and Industry. Our community must break down barriers such as cost\, schedule\, and policy\, while at the same time designing for exportability that enables our allies and coalition partners to fight alongside of us. We must be ready to face an adversary that continues every day to evolve and advance their technologies and capabilities. \nThis year’s conference will focus on learning how to manage and understand new policies\, discuss designing for exportability with extensive requirements and limited funds\, and share lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful programs. The conference will also provide a forum for discussions and presentations on current Government capabilities and in-depth discussion of current threats. On-going Government and Industry technology development efforts\, as well as innovative\, future thinking capabilities from Industry and Academia will also be presented to inform and educate the broader community.
